Where a trained dog lives a more fulfilling life...
Reviews
This team changes lives. I did a 3 day train and stay with my 3 year old reactive French Bulldog. The knowledge and experience Matt has is incredible and Emily is fantastic! They are an amazing team. After almost giving up due to past trainers and getting nowhere I am so glad I did it. I cannot recommend enough. The changes already after 3 days is hard to believe and has given me confidence to tackle the world with my dog. Thank you!
We wish that we had found Sit Happens when we adopted Maverick in May 2019. Fortunately, we found Matt and the team and have been working with them since March 2022. Maverick is one of a kind. He had many issues, all stemming from fear which he then displayed in reactivity to people and dogs, amongst many other unacceptable behaviours. When we met Matt, I was unable to walk to Maverick because of his behaviour and my lack of confidence, so this fell to my husband. The road has been long and we are still not where we want to be, but the improvement in Maverick has been amazing. My confidence has increased when handling him and I feel like I can deal with any situation. All it took was finding the right trainer, someone who wasn’t scared of a difficult German Shepherd, practice and repetition and finding the right tools to enable us to get control of Maverick and for him to realise that we can handle the situations. He does not need to take control and deal with everything. My husband and I now walk Maverick using different tools as Maverick listens more to my husband than he does to me. We have had intense sessions, one to one’s, joined the reactivity masterclass and Maverick was also able to take advantage of the residential training that was previously offered. This has all built up to us being able to attend the Summer BBQ event with 19 other dogs and their handlers and to say that Maverick’s behaviour made us proud is an understatement. That is something that, previously, I would not have thought possibly and I certainly would not have had the confidence to attend. I am now so confident in handling Maverick that I am able to walk him around our local County Park and deal with people, dogs and cyclists with ease. Sit Happens has changed ours and Maverick’s life for the better and I know that Matt and the team are at the end of the phone if we require any further guidance or need a top-up session. I am forever grateful to Sit Happens and I would recommend them to everyone who is struggling with their dog or feels that they need a bit of guidance.
Our experience with Sit Happens dog training was nothing short of transformative. We were at a breaking point with our 3-year-old dog Ralph, a lockdown addition to our family who had developed high anxiety, especially around other dogs as well as children. Walks became a dreaded task, family gatherings were a source of stress, and attending events with Ralph was an emotional ordeal. We had tried multiple trainers at a lower price point, but the conflicting advice and overwhelming information left us feeling hopeless.
Discovering Sit Happens Dog Training on Instagram felt like a beacon of hope. The personalised 1:1 training approach they offered seemed tailored to our needs. Despite the initial hesitance about the price, we decided to go for the Train & Stay program after a reassuring conversation with Matt. The before-and-after transformations on their Instagram page convinced us to take the plunge, and we couldn't be happier with our decision.
From the first day of the weekend bootcamp, we witnessed remarkable results. Matt not only addressed Ralph's behaviour but also helped us understand the root causes. We realised that unintentionally, we were contributing to his reactive behaviour. The training was a learning experience for both us and Ralph, and we all emerged better for it.
One of the most memorable moments was witnessing Ralph calmly walking alongside and passed other dogs out in the real world, a scenario that was once unimaginable! Seeing Ralph open up to Matt and Em was equally heartwarming. The picturesque countryside setting added to the positive experience, providing a serene backdrop for the training sessions and spending time with Matt and Em was delightful—they immediately put us at ease, and the entire weekend was filled with laughter!
We are immensely grateful to have found Sit Happens. Their expertise, genuine care, and effective training methods have made a significant impact on Ralph's behaviour and our overall well-being. We look forward to Ralph's continued progress and are excited to see Sit Happens’ success in the new year. If you're seeking a comprehensive and personalised approach to dog training, the trainers at Sit Happens are the experts you've been searching for. Highly recommended!
The absolute best experience ever. Such amazing results already and we are all so happy. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. This has been life changing for our little Spaniel family. I feel like we can go anywhere and do anything now. This has been the most worthwhile and wonderful investment.
We have just completed a 4 day train and stay package where Matt, Emily and Neil travelled all the way to our home in Leicestershire to help us. It has been such a wonderful experience. We have come out of it feeling like our lives have been changed so much for the better and I haven’t got the right words to properly say how amazing it has been and what it means to us and what we have achieved.
We have two fabulous Cocker Spaniels, the youngest, Ralph has always been quite challenging for us to train. He was very excitable, he had very poor manners, would jump up at people and I was really struggling to handle him. I had done my own research and tried the best way that I could to train him but it was not working and the problems were escalating like a snowball effect and becoming very stressful for us all. I felt absolutely distraught and I was so worried as Ralph was becoming very dog reactive and his resource guarding was very concerning and I just didn’t know how to help him. I had been following Matt on social media for a while and had seen how he had helped others. I liked the idea of the train and stay as I thought that Matt could see Ralph’s complete situation. This unique train and stay package allowed Matt to help us in such a comprehensive way. He could see specifically what was worrying us and show us how to deal with things in our real life situations. Turns out, lots of problems were feeding into each other. The training expanded and Theo had help with his specific issues too. Theo had this thing where he would just lie down along the path whilst on a walk and refuse to move. He only wanted to go to particular places and I would often have to carry him! Matt sorted this out straight away! Matt explained to us in a clear and concise way, exactly what was going on, why and what we needed to do to sort things out. The amount of things that he taught us is too long to list. I have come away from this with such confidence. We could clearly see the difference in Ralph and Theo right after day one of the training. I have learned so much and feel that I could apply this new knowledge to other situations that might occur. I now understand what I need to do to be the best for my boys. I had, in the past, inadvertently been making things worse but Matt has taught me how put things right and he is there at the end of the phone if I get stuck at any point in the future. If anybody is thinking of booking and wants to ask me about my experience, I would be happy for you to get in touch with me via Matt. Thank you for everything. I feel like we have made friends for life too 🐶😊
