Reviews & REAL LIFE Client updates...

As let's face it.... Reviews are nice and all but what are our clients up to now & has the training lasted???
We had our first training session with Matt a week ago working on dog reactivity with our almost 2 year old goldendoodle. I was amazed at how much progress we made in the 2 hours and by the end of the session she was calmly passing Matt’s dogs. Matt gave us techniques to use including watching for changes in her body language when approaching dogs and nipping it in the bud (instead of just dragging her past barking and lunging or avoid dogs altogether as was the case before 😩).
We’ve made a lot of progress in the last week and whilst certainly not getting it right every time can generally spot where I’m going wrong - usually my timing. We also went on a trip to Northumberland for a few days (lots of dogs) and again couldn’t believe at how well it went - so much better than I’d expected. Even managed some successful visits to pubs/cafes with her which I didn’t think would be possible.

We’ve still got a long way to go but I feel much more confident taking her out and positive about training now I can see it starting to work. Thanks Matt.

We have just finished our 3 day train and stay with Matt at Sit Happens Dog Training and I can’t thank him enough for what he has given us! He has given us more than words can describe.

My 2 years old Dalmatian has been struggling over the past year with fear reactivity towards both people and dogs as well as, over protectiveness of me. We were completely lost on how to help Kyoko to overcome or learn to manage his emotions until Matt showed up.

Matt was amazing with his explanations on how to understand Kyoko and has given us the tools we need to work through his behavioural issues. We have a long road ahead of us but we are now instilled with confidence that we can do it!

I cannot recommend Sit Happens Training enough!

We started with Sit Happens because our 2 big dogs were reactive and pulled on the lead walking wasn't a joy at all. We had 1 on 1 sessions and also group session progressing to pack walks. I can't believe the difference now in both of our dogs, today we went to a carnival full of noise, people and dogs, both behaved impeccably. This is something we couldn't have even contemplated before, both dogs were relaxed and an absolute joy. We could not have done any of this without the help from Matt x

After owning dogs for probably more years than Matt has been alive I was sceptical as to the value of this training. I am happy to admit I was wrong and now after just a handful of sessions our dog walks are a joy.
Previously avoiding crowds or other dogs we now walk without issues anywhere we choose.

What are our clients up to now that they've had their training?

I'm not sure how to write this review.... I'm not sure how I can explain how horrendous things were to how much of a miraculous improvement I can see!!

My dog had ruined my life! I loved him with all my heart, he was my world, but at times I hated him and then would feel so guilty because with me at home he was the softest, loveliest, goodest boy! I cried and broke my heart on a daily basis.

My boys reactivity to people and dogs was on another level... He's broken my bones, he's dragged me across roads into traffic, I was having to walk him at 5am in the morning just to keep us safe!

I've spent thousands on training and sometimes things would seem like they were improving, then something would happen and we would be back to square 1. I was physically and emotionally exhausted! This was my life now, no more holidays, no more seeing my friends.... How can I be at work most of the day, then go out on a evening? I can't take him out with me and that's not fair on my boy!

I found sit happens and the train and stay they offer. I thought this is the one thing I haven't tried. What have I got to lose.... More money? Well I can always make more money and at least I know if I do this I've literally tried everything!! Did I think it would work? Absolutely not!! Even when Matt guaranteed me on the phone it would... I got off the phone and laughed, yeah you've not met my dog yet mate!!

Our train and stay was hard, it was emotional and at first I thought... I can't do this... But we powered through! I'll not go into everything, but day 2 I walked my dog into a busy park, full of people, children, on lead and off lead dogs.... My boy did not react once. We finished day 2 with a beer in a pub, with my boy laid at the side of me!!

Is my boy fixed? No!! Of course he's not!! 3 years of horrific reactivity can't be completely fixed in 3 days!

But can I walk out of my house without my heart in my mouth? Can I see another dog and not panic? Do I know how to deal with it if he does react? Yes!!! 100%!! I cannot wait to get out with him and face our fears so we can enjoy our lives. The next time I set my alarm at 5am will be to set off to Cornwall with my lovely boy... Not to trudge round streets so he at least gets a bit of exercise!!
